Responsibilities
As a Toolmaker, you'll be a vital part of the Tool Room, reporting directly to the Tooling Supervisor. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Participating in complex tool designs and reviews, leveraging your knowledge and skills.
- Examining and recommending design modifications for dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Building, repairing, and maintaining medium & long-run progressive stamping tooling.
- Utilizing technical drawings, blueprints, sketches, and CAD models to build and assemble dies and form tools.
- Programming CNC machining centers and Wire EDMs using CAD/CAM software.
- Setting up and operating a variety of machinery, including CNC machining centers, Wire EDMs, manual mills, lathes, drills, and surface grinders.
- Conducting test runs to ensure parts meet specifications and making necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshooting and resolving tooling-related issues, both in the tool room and directly in the press.
- Collaborating with Press Operators on tool setups.
