Randstad Tallahassee is looking for a skilled and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join a warehouse team. The ideal candidate operates forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, store, and retrieve products within the warehouse efficiently and safely.  The Forklift Operator works in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. The position may require working evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to meet operational demands.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid forklift operator certification is required.
• Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operating Forklifts and Material Handling Equipment: Operate various forklifts safely, including sit-down and stand-up models, to move, stack, load, and unload merchandise within the warehouse.
• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods efficiently and safely from trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
• Inventory Management: Locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise accurately, ensuring proper placement and organization in storage areas.
• Order Fulfillment: Assist with order picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-operation checks on the forklift, perform routine maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels), and report any malfunctions or damage immediately to supervisors.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety procedures and OSHA standards, ensuring a safe working environment and properly securing loads before transport.
• Documentation and Reporting: Complete daily logs, reports, and other required documentation accurately related to material movements, inventory levels, and equipment inspections.
• Warehouse Organization: Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area within the warehouse. 

The essential functions of this role include:
