Responsibilities

• Supervision and Leadership:
  
  
  • Oversee the daily operations of CNC lathe machinists and operators.
    
    
  • Manage production schedules, assignments, and workflow to meet deadlines and production targets.
    
    
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to junior machinists and apprentices.
    
    
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment.
    
    
  • Conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary actions if needed.
    
    
• Technical Expertise & Operations:
  
  
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-axis CNC lathes (e.g., DMG MORI, OKUMA, DOOSAN, MAZAK, Haas).
    
    
  • Program CNC lathes (often including G-code, Mastercam, and/or GibbsCam).
    
    
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications (including GD&T).
    
    
  • Ensure machining processes are carried out efficiently and accurately, meeting quality standards.
    
    
  • Perform and/or oversee first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
    
    
  • Manage tooling inventory and ensure availability for production needs.
    
    
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement).
