Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Process Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Kansas City. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing injection molding operations to ensure consistent, high-quality production. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, start, and monitor injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
- Troubleshoot process issues related to molds, machines, and material handling
- Adjust cycle times, weights, and parameters to optimize production output and product quality
- Document and log equipment settings, resin and colorant usage, and quality check results
- Assist with mold changes, machine cleanings, and material preparation
- Conduct sampling runs and support engineering with mold trials and qualifications
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of tools, materials, and workstations
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient production floor
- 2+ years of experience in injection molding operations or plastics processing
- Knowledge of mold setup, machine troubleshooting, and process optimization
- Ability to read blueprints, operate basic hand tools, and follow safety procedures
- Comfortable lifting up to 60 lbs and standing for long periods
- Communication and time management skills
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour rotating shifts; overtime may be required)

Responsibilities
- Set up, start, and monitor injection molding operations — including installing, pulling, and adjusting molds to optimize cycle timing, weight, quality, and consistency
- Conduct mold sampling and production trials for new molds and parts, collaborating with engineering during qualification phases
- Document production data including sampling logs, resin usage, colorant metrics, machine settings, downtime, and quality checks
- Maintain work area cleanliness, tool readiness, and inventory — including resins, colorant additives, and tools in readiness for production needs
- Adhere to safety and operational standards, comply with OSHA protocols, and contribute to 5S and continuous improvement practices on the production floor
