Responsibilities
The Stainless Steel Polisher is responsible for grinding, smoothing, and polishing metal surfaces to achieve a desired finish. This role requires expertise in using a variety of hand and power tools to prepare and finish stainless steel products, ensuring all items meet high-quality standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a range of tools, including grinders, sanders, buffers, and polishers, to remove imperfections such as welds, scratches, and dents from stainless steel.
- Prepare surfaces for various finishes, from a brushed satin look to a high-gloss mirror finish, following detailed work orders and blueprints.
- Select and apply appropriate abrasives, compounds, and buffing wheels for each stage of the polishing process.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet strict quality control standards and are free of defects.
- Maintain and clean equipment and a safe work area, adhering to all company safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with the fabrication and welding teams to ensure a smooth workflow and high-quality final product.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the polishing process to maintain production efficiency.
