A Digital Prepress Specialist prepares digital design files for print production by verifying technical specifications, such as resolution, color space, and font quality, and making necessary adjustments using graphic design software like the Adobe Creative Suite. Key responsibilities include collaborating with designers, performing color correction, preparing files for digital or offset printing (including imposition), generating proofs for review, and ensuring all print requirements are met to guarantee a high-quality final product.

Responsibilities

• File Verification and Correction: Analyze and check digital files for accuracy, ensuring correct resolution, color space, fonts, and image quality. 
• File Manipulation: Adjust and manipulate files using graphic design software to fix issues, convert file formats, and prepare them for the printing process. 
• Color Management: Implement color correction, ensure proper color space settings, and manage color to achieve accurate and consistent output. 
• Imposition and Proofing: Arrange pages for the printing press (imposition), generate proofs, and perform quality control to ensure the proof matches the final printed piece. 
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers, clients, and the print production team to troubleshoot issues and ensure a smooth workflow. 

File Management: Organize, store, and maintain digital files and production records. 
Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of prepress and printing equipment.
