Responsibilities
- Interpret design specifications, drawings, and templates to create accurate upholstery patterns.
- Develop, cut, and adjust fabric patterns to ensure correct fit, form, and functionality.
- Mark, measure, and cut fabrics according to established guidelines and dimensions.
- Sew prototypes and finished products to verify accuracy of patterns and ensure quality standards.
- Collaborate with production staff to troubleshoot fit or fabric challenges.
- Maintain consistency in pattern development for repeat orders and large-scale production.
- Ensure proper use and care of sewing machines, cutting tools, and other upholstery equipment.
- Keep detailed records of patterns, templates, and adjustments for future reference.
- Proven experience in upholstery, sewing, or pattern making (commercial upholstery background preferred).
- Excellent ability to read and interpret design drawings and written specifications.
- Proficient in sewing techniques with industrial and/or commercial sewing equipment.
- Keen attention to detail with excellent measuring, marking, and cutting skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to adjust and refine patterns as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift fabric and materials as needed.
- Manual dexterity for precise cutting and sewing tasks
