Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician at our bakery is essential for making sure all our products are safe to eat and meet our high-quality standards. This job involves constantly checking our ingredients, products being made, and the finished goods to ensure they match our company rules, customer needs, and government food safety laws, including the SQF (Safe Quality Food) program. You'll regularly inspect and test materials, and monitor employees to verify they are following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). A key part of the role is checking that critical food safety steps, or Critical Control Points (CCPs), are monitored correctly as part of our HACCP plan. You will need to keep detailed records of all quality checks and testing results. If you find something wrong, you must identify and report it—this is called non-conformance management—and help fix the problem (corrective actions). You'll also help train others on food safety and support audits to keep our SQF certification. This role require good communication skills, clear attention to detail and the ability to stand for long periods.
