Key responsibilities involve performing comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance according to schedule, inspecting and testing equipment to manufacturer specifications, and executing essential repairs across multiple trades including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and fabrication. The technician will be expected to install new or repaired components, maintain the physical integrity of the establishment, and operate heavy equipment such as cranes and fork trucks safely and properly, applying safe rigging techniques.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting, combined with effective organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills. Proficiency in safety compliance, effective communication, and an independent work ethic are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Perform maintenance service repairs in the areas of machine servicing, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, fabrication, and vehicle servicing.
- Create, publish, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance according to a published schedule to meet production demand.
- Establish a critical parts list and approved vendor list.
- Assist in implementing the 5S program.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring and electrical components of machinery equipment.
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
- Safely and properly operate cranes, fork trucks, and apply safe rigging.
- Provide monthly written maintenance reports.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Hazardous Chemicals policies.
- Ensure compliance with delivery and specification requirements of customer orders.
- Adhere to Sunshine Metals’ safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Support the production department in the creation of goods and services as may be required to service customers when maintenance requirements are up to date.
