• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a CNC Programmer & Setup Machinist, with a focus on milling.
• Software Proficiency: Required proficiency and hands-on experience with Mastercam and/or HyperMill.
• Knowledge: Foundational understanding of mold components, advanced CNC milling techniques, and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skills: Proven ability to execute full machine setups, select and adjust tooling, and perform comprehensive quality checks.
• Education: A Technical Degree or relevant certifications are preferred, but extensive, proven experience is highly valued and will be considered in lieu of formal education. Responsibilities
• Programming: Utilize Mastercam and/or HyperMill to develop and optimize CNC programs for complex production parts, applying advanced machining strategies.
• Setup & Operation: Independently set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines, including fixture installation, tool offsets, and machine adjustments, to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Technical Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret detailed engineering blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
• Tooling Selection: Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds based on material and component specifications to achieve optimal results and surface finish.
• Troubleshooting: Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing programs and setups to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance part quality.
• Quality Control: Perform rigorous in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify finished parts meet strict GD&T and tight tolerance requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, toolmakers, and other team members to contribute to process improvements and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
