Successful candidates will be able to set up, operate, and perform basic maintenance on CNC equipment while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
- Perform first-piece inspection and in-process checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Monitor machine operations, adjusting feeds and speeds as necessary to optimize performance and maintain quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic machine and program malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow all safety protocols. Qualifications
- Proven expertise in operating CNC milling centers (3-, 4-, or 5-axis experience highly valued).
- Demonstrated ability to operate CNC lathes.
- Proficiency in reading and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, material characteristics, and machining processes for various metals (e.g., aluminum, titanium, stainless steel).
- Preferred Skills (A Major Plus)
- Experience with CNC programming
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., AS9100).
