Responsibilities
- Full Machine Operation: Manage multiple Brown & Sharpe single-spindle screw machines to produce parts based on detailed blueprints and work orders.
- Technical Setups: Select and check proper tooling; perform changeovers for collets, feeders, spindle stops, cams, and gears according to layout specifications.
- Precision Inspection: Utilize a full range of precision gauging tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure dimensions and tolerances meet strict specifications.
- Quality Control: Identify cosmetic non-conformances (burrs, galling, cracked edges, slug marks) and take immediate action to prevent production errors.
- Maintenance & Optimization: Perform minor adjustments, regulate coolant flow, and notify leadership of any major maintenance needs.
- Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean workspace following 5S procedures and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Experience: 5–10 years of direct experience working on Brown & Sharpe machinery is required.
- Technical Skills: strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform layout-driven changes (gears, cams, etc.).
- Math Skills: Proficiency in basic shop math, including fractions and decimals
- Standard Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Overtime: Fridays (as needed), 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM
