Company Overview: A leading manufacturing company in the packaging industry is seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician. This role involves a 5-day work week with 9-hour shifts. We are looking for a dedicated professional to maintain high-speed manufacturing machinery.
Job Responsibilities:
- System Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems on converting machinery, including laminators, die-cutters, gluers, conveyors, and strapping systems. Experience with waste handling systems is a plus.
- Controls & Components: Diagnose issues with PLCs, motor drives, relays, contactors, and other critical electrical control components.
- Mechanical Repairs: Execute repairs on motors, pumps, motion control systems, pneumatics, and hydraulic assemblies.
- PLC Programming: Program and troubleshoot PLCs, specifically utilizing Studio5000 and Siemens TIA Portal.
- Diagnostic logic: Troubleshoot complex systems with or without electrical schematics; ability to use instruments to identify missing feedback signals is required.
- Documentation: Record all maintenance repairs and Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders in the CMMS. (Knowledge of Maximo, IBM, SAP, or MaintainX is highly preferred).
- Safety First: Strictly follow Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and adhere to all safety key points and company values.
- Communication: Keep the engineering team informed regarding daily repairs and ongoing machinery issues.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- PLC Proficiency: Proficiency in working with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical and electronic circuits, sensors, and encoders.
- Industry Background: Understanding of Offset printing presses is a significant plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of multitasking within a fast-paced plant rhythm.
- Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 hours per day.
- Flexibility: Candidates must have the ability to work flexible hours and be willing to work overtime as required.
- Work Environment: Must maintain a safe and clean work area and perform miscellaneous assignments as required by management.
