Responsibilities
- Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
- Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
- Installs moving parts such as shafts, levers or bearings and works them to test free movement.
- Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
- Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies
- Performs visual and mechanical inspection as required to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
- Mechanical inspection may require the use of GO / NO GO gages, Calipers, micrometers, height gages and other measuring tools.
- First, In Process, and Last Piece Inspection documentation and serialization documentation may be required.
- Special attention to detail required during visual inspection for part / assembly imperfections, scratches, dents, and discoloration.
- Use drill press or hand tools to deburr, drill, tap, ream, or burnish features
