We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Warehouse Lead / Assistant Manager to support daily warehouse operations while leading by example on the floor. This role combines leadership responsibility with physical warehouse duties, including loading and unloading freight, maintaining accurate inventory records, and operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and push-pull machines. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Freight Handling
· Load and unload inbound and outbound freight safely and efficiently
· Inspect shipments for accuracy and damage
· Stage, sort, and organize materials within the warehouse
· Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory
Equipment Operation
· Safely operate forklifts (sit-down and/or stand-up as required)
· Operate push-pull machines and other material handling equipment
· Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
Inventory & Documentation
· Maintain detailed and accurate inventory records
· Monitor stock levels and assist with cycle counts and audits
· Track shipments, discrepancies, and damages
· Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software
Leadership & Communication
· Assist the Warehouse Manager in supervising daily operations
· Provide guidance and support to warehouse team members
· Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal departments
· Promote a positive, productive, and safety-first work environment
Organization & Compliance
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse
· Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
· Assist in scheduling, workflow coordination, and problem resolution
