Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and quality control of high-precision machining centers to produce complex components. Your daily duties include:
- Machine Setup: Perform full setups on CNC Mills or Lathes, including installing fixtures, loading tools, and inputting tool/work offsets ($G54-G59$).
- Production & Operation: Run production lots while monitoring machine performance, adjusting speeds and feeds to optimize tool life and part finish.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings, applying GD&T standards to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
- Quality Inspection: Conduct "First-Piece" and in-process inspections using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges.
- Code Editing: Perform basic G-code and M-code edits at the controller (Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak) to correct dimensions or improve cycle times.
- Maintenance: Perform daily machine maintenance (checking coolant levels, oiling, and chip removal) and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs and quality records to ensure traceability and compliance with ISO standards.
