Key Responsibilities:
- Institutional Layout: Interpret blueprints and ISO drawings to install piping systems in complex environments like schools and government facilities.
- System Fabrication: Measure, cut, and prep various materials (Copper, PVC, Steel) for potable water, gas, and specialized institutional lines.
- Precision Joining: Execute expert-level soldering and brazing for high-traffic water loops and mechanical room headers.
- Drainage & Venting (DWV): Install underground and vertical waste systems with exact pitch/grading to ensure long-term code compliance.
- Quality Assurance: Lead hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing to guarantee leak-proof performance before site inspections.
- Certification: Valid OSHA 10 certification is required.
- Tools: Must have a complete set of basic hand tools (pipe wrenches, copper cutters, torpedo levels, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Blueprint Interpretation: Analyze mechanical drawings and ISOs to determine accurate system routing and material requirements.
- System Layout: Mark and "rough-in" the placement of pipes, hangers, and fixtures according to structural markers.
- Material Preparation: Measure, cut, thread, and bevel pipes (PVC, Copper, Steel) using specialized saws and threading machines.
- Precision Joining: Expertly assemble systems using soldering, brazing, solvent welding, and mechanical bolting (flanges).
- Offset Calculation: Use trigonometry to calculate complex pipe offsets to navigate around structural beams and other utilities.
- Drainage & Venting (DWV): Install underground and vertical waste systems ensuring precise slope/grade for gravity-fed drainage.
- System Testing: Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests to verify leak-proof integrity before city inspections.
- Safety Coordination: Implement LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and maintain OSHA safety standards for heavy rigging and "hot work."
