Role Summary:
Randstad USA is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a stable, family-owned chemical manufacturing company in Forest View, IL. This is a full-time, direct hire role supporting production equipment reliability and plant operations.
The technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mixers, pumps, piping systems, and other production equipment in a chemical processing environment while supporting preventive maintenance programs and plant improvement projects.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Experience in manufacturing or chemical processing environments preferred
- Knowledge of pumps, mixers, steam systems, fabrication, and basic electrical systems
- Familiarity with CMMS maintenance tracking systems
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as forklifts or lifts
- Valid driver’s license required
- Chemical manufacturing or processing facilities
- Experience with pumps, agitators, piping systems, and instrumentation
- Mechanical troubleshooting and fabrication skills
- $28–$32/hour starting pay
- $2/hour shift differential for 2nd shift

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, mixers, agitators, and process equipment
- Conduct basic electrical troubleshooting (110V, 220V, 460V systems)
- Install and maintain piping systems up to 3” and related instrumentation
- Assist with equipment installation, piping, and electrical upgrades
- Read basic blueprints (P&ID knowledge a plus)
- Document maintenance activities using CMMS systems
- Follow work order schedules and respond to urgent maintenance issues
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards including LOTO, PPE, confined space, and hot work permits
- Support plant operations during outages and rotating call-in coverage
