We are looking for a precision-minded Machine Setup Specialist to join our metal manufacturing team. You won’t just be pushing buttons; you’ll be the "engine" of our production line, responsible for the complete technical setup of our punch press operations. The ideal candidate has a deep mechanical understanding of tool and die systems and takes pride in ensuring every run is calibrated for maximum accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Machine Setup: Perform full changeovers and setups on punch press machines according to job specifications.
• Tool & Die Management: Safely load, align, and secure heavy dies into presses.
• Feeding Systems: Configure and synchronize material feeding equipment to ensure smooth, continuous operation.
• First-Piece Inspection: Validate initial parts against blueprints or templates to ensure the setup meets quality standards before handing off to operators.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during the run, making manual adjustments to dies or machine timing as needed.
• Safety & Maintenance: Conduct routine checks on die integrity and ensure all safety guards are properly installed.

Required Qualifications

• Proven Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience specifically setting up punch presses.
• Die Mastery: Extensive knowledge of tool and die components, including how to handle, install, and troubleshoot them.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy tooling and remain active on the shop floor for the duration of the shift.
• Reliability: A track record of consistent attendance for a Monday–Friday schedule

The essential functions of this role include:

• manual lifting up to 70lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
