Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Repair and rebuild live tool holders and accessories for Star Swiss-type CNC
lathes
Disassemble, clean, inspect, order parts, and reassemble precision assemblies
Hold extremely tight tolerances (1–5 microns) on rotating components
Machine steel, aluminum, alloys, and plastics to tight tolerances
Design and manufacture custom tools, fixtures, and adapters
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
Take precise measurements and verify finished parts meet specifications
Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, saws, hones, and hand tools
Secondary Responsibilities
Retrofit and modify tooling components
Perform routine maintenance on shop and Star equipment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop
Support Service and Applications engineers as needed
Lift up to 50 lbs when required
The essential functions of this role include:
- manual lifting up to 50lbs
- standing for 8 hours at one time
Skills
