Responsibilities
Position Summary
We are seeking a leadership-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance department within our meat packing facility. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of mechanics, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring that all equipment—from grinders to vacuum packaging systems—operates at peak efficiency. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, USDA-compliant environment while minimizing downtime through strategic planning and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and schedule a team of Maintenance Mechanics while providing technical guidance and managing performance in accordance with company and union standards.
- Develop and oversee the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to ensure maximum uptime for meat processing and packaging equipment.
- Direct emergency repairs and troubleshooting for mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems during production hours.
- Ensure all departmental activities strictly adhere to OSHA, USDA, and GMP regulations, including the management of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs.
- Maintain comprehensive records of repairs, parts inventory, and labor hours while managing the maintenance budget and procurement.
- Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation departments to coordinate equipment changeovers and facility improvements.
- Lead the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new machinery and facility infrastructure.
