Responsibilities
- Culture Leadership: Partner with site leadership to drive a high-engagement safety culture, coaching managers to integrate safety as a core organizational value.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility meets all local, state, federal, and company requirements, including OSHA and EPA standards and reporting.
- Program Management: Develop and oversee critical safety initiatives, including LOTO, Machine Guarding, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and PIT certification.
- Training & Education: Plan and execute comprehensive programs to educate employees on workplace safety, fire prevention, and hazardous material handling.
- Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analysis for accidents or near-misses and ensure the implementation of robust corrective and preventative actions.
- Risk Mitigation: Utilize proactive tools such as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), audits, and task-based observations to identify and eliminate workplace hazards.
- Workers’ Compensation: Manage the administration of workers' compensation claims, partnering with HR and insurance carriers to minimize lost time and ensure employee care.
- Administrative Oversight: Maintain accurate safety and environmental records, including SOP updates, company databases, and regulatory filings.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply a Lean or Six Sigma mindset to site operations to reduce waste, improve safety metrics, and drive environmental sustainability.
