We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling professional to join a premier automotive manufacturing facility specializing in advanced plastic injection molding. This is not a "quick fix" shop; we are looking for a specialist capable of executing major teardowns, comprehensive maintenance, and precision repairs on high-tonnage, complex tooling. Responsibilities

• Full Tooling Overhauls: Perform scheduled monthly major teardowns on high-tonnage molds (including tools exceeding 40,000 lbs).
  
  
• Complex System Maintenance: Disassemble, clean, and inspect intricate mold components, including complex water-cooling circuits (e.g., 30+ part systems routed into multiple circuits) to ensure optimal thermal performance.
  
  
• Precision Repair: Diagnose and repair tooling issues using manual machining equipment including mills, drill presses, and grinders to maintain tight tolerances.
  
  
• Welding & Fabrication: Utilize welding for tool repairs and custom fabrication projects as needed.
  
  
• Technical Troubleshooting: Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical blueprints to troubleshoot hot runner systems and integrated sensors.
  
  
• Safe Rigging: Operate overhead cranes to safely maneuver and position large-scale mold assemblies.
  
  
• Experience: 7+ years of Tool and D. experience OR 3–5 years specifically within a plastic injection molding environment.
  
  
• Background: Candidates with a Metal Stamping / Tool Maker background will be considered if they possess mechanical aptitude and a willingness to master injection mold maintenance.
