What You’ll Do
- Plan & Purchase: Analyze technical Bills of Materials (BOM) and use our MRP system to trigger accurate purchase requisitions.
- Expedite: Proactively manage vendor lead times and expedite "critical path" items to prevent shop floor stoppages.
- Control Inventory: Drive 100% inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and optimized safety stock levels.
- Collaborate: Partner with Engineering and Production to resolve material shortages or part substitutions on the fly.
- Experience: 3+ years in planning or purchasing within a custom manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Technical: High proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Mindset: A disciplined, data-driven approach to solving supply chain bottlenecks.

Responsibilities
You will manage the flow of industrial components (pumps, motors, valves, and steel) for custom-engineered pumping systems. Your goal is to ensure the shop floor has exactly what it needs to meet aggressive production schedules without carrying excess inventory.
Primary Responsibilities:
- MRP & Demand Planning: Utilize the ERP/MRP system to analyze shop orders and trigger purchase requisitions based on engineering requirements.
- BOM Management: Review technical Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure all project-specific hardware is ordered accurately and on time.
- Procurement & Expediting: Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and proactively follow up with vendors to track shipments and expedite "critical path" components to prevent line stoppages.
- Inventory Control: Manage "Safety Stock" for high-turn hardware while coordinating cycle counts to maintain 100% inventory accuracy.
- Shortage Mitigation: Generate daily shortage reports and collaborate with the Plant Manager to resolve supply chain risks before they impact customer delivery.
- Cross-Functional Support: Work with Engineering and the Controls Manager to manage part substitutions or design changes during the production cycle.
- 3+ years of planning/purchasing experience in a "High Mix, Low Volume" manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read technical specs and understand industrial lead times.
