- Evaluate, update, and implement EHS policies and procedures in strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA.
- Ensure all required EHS documentation is maintained, including OSHA logs, injury reports (TIR), and audit records.
- Manage hazardous waste compliance, covering proper storage, labeling, handling, and disposal.
- Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all new materials to assess potential hazards.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct engaging safety orientation training for all new employees.
- Identify, develop, and deliver additional EHS training programs (e.g., lockout/tagout, chemical handling, first aid/CPR) to empower employees and supervisors.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Health & Safety Committee meetings.
- Recognize and reward employee contributions that improve safety and health performance.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and annual safety inspections and audits of facilities and equipment.
- Perform regular, unannounced safety walk-throughs, actively engaging with employees to reinforce safe practices and understand concerns.
- Lead workplace incident investigations, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and drills, serving as a resource during actual emergencies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety-related SOPs.
- 3–5 years of experience in EHS coordination or safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred. An Associate’s degree with significant EHS experience will be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety/environmental regulations.
- Comfortable working in industrial manufacturing environments, including around machinery and chemicals.
