Position Overview We are looking for a skilled Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team in Peachtree City. This role focuses on the high-speed automated systems supporting our plastic injection molding operations. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, performing complex repairs, and minimizing downtime through expert troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems.
Core Responsibilities
- High-Speed Maintenance: Maintain and repair industrial machinery and automated systems, including high-speed production equipment such as packaging, conveyor-based systems, and assembly cells.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Perform hands-on diagnostics on pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, mechanical drives, and sensor-based systems.
- Electrical Safety: Use multimeters to diagnose electrical issues while strictly adhering to safe electrical practices (NFPA 70E/LOTO).
- Blueprint Proficiency: Interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic or hydraulic schematics to guide repairs and installations.
- Automation & Logic: Troubleshoot basic PLC-controlled equipment by following logic sequences. Support the operation of variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo motors, and industrial sensors.
- Operational Urgency: Work effectively under downtime pressure to restore equipment to full production capacity safely and efficiently.
- Documentation: Accurately document all maintenance activities, parts used, and work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Experience: Proven track record in a manufacturing environment (bottling, packaging, or molding preferred) maintaining automated production lines.
- Mechanical Skills: Advanced knowledge of mechanical power transmission, including gearboxes and drive systems.
- Fluid Power: Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
- Electrical: Comfortable with control circuits and common industrial electrical components.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive on a 12-hour night shift rotation and manage multiple priorities independently.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification in Mechatronics or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
