Job Responsibilities
1. Core Operations & Transport
- Safe Operation: Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in various traffic and weather conditions, adhering to all local, state, and federal traffic laws.
- Route Management: Efficiently navigate planned routes using GPS and atlas tools, ensuring on-time pick-ups and deliveries across the Lexington region (or designated lanes).
- Cargo Security: Ensure all freight is properly loaded, braced, and secured according to DOT safety standards to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Vehicle Inspections: Perform mandatory Pre-Trip, En-Route, and Post-Trip inspections (DVIR) to ensure the vehicle is in peak mechanical condition.
- ELD & Logging: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict accordance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Documentation: Manage and process all shipping paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOL), delivery receipts, and fuel logs, ensuring they are complete and legible.
- Incident Reporting: Immediately report any mechanical issues, traffic violations, or accidents to the dispatch/safety team.
