Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working order.
- Properly track and document activity logs (ELD) in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Secure cargo for transport using straps, chains, or binders as needed.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to dispatch immediately.
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle.
- [Optional: Include if applicable] Assist with loading or unloading freight using a pallet jack or forklift.
- License: Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Medical: Current DOT Medical Card.
- Experience: Minimum [1–2] years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience.
- Safety: A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Knowledge: strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and safety regulations.
- Physical: Ability to sit for long periods and lift up to [50] lbs if required for loading/unloading.
- Compliance: Must be able to pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples endorsements are a plus.
