Core Responsibilities
- Systems Control: Set up, program, and debug PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, and HMI/operator interface devices.
- Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and mechanical failures, including advanced hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Electrical Fabrication: Assemble and wire electrical control panels; generate and update electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
- Optimization: Identify and execute equipment upgrades and shop re-builds to improve machinery performance.
- Maintenance: Perform precision preventative maintenance and calibration on transducers, sensors, and motor starters.
- Leadership: Provide technical mentorship and training to junior technicians and new hires.
- Experience: 7+ years in industrial manufacturing with a focus on electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Programming: 3+ years of hands-on PLC programming and debugging (Direct Soft, C-More, Motion Works, or similar).
- Electrical Expertise: Expert-level troubleshooting up to 480VAC; deep knowledge of NEC and UL508A standards.
- Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in industrial communication standards (Ethernet IP, RS-232/485) and process control ladder logic.
- Tool Proficiency: Advanced use of Multi-meters, Megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and various shop power tools.
- Documentation: Ability to read/create complex electrical schematics and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
- Project planning skills, including material specification and list generation.
- Unwavering commitment to safety (LOTO, ladder safety, and PPE).
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision or as a collaborative team lead.
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to task completion.
- Ability to obtain a forklift certification.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, troubleshooting and modification of control systems used in automated machinery.
- Performs maintenance service and repairs on production equipment including preventative maintenance.
- Set up and programming of PLC’s, variable frequency and servo drives.
- Set up and programming of operator interface devices.
- Assembly and wiring of electrical control panels and machinery.
- Generation of electrical schematics and support documentation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical failures on existing manufacturing equipment.
- Advanced industrial electrical troubleshooting tasks such as diagnosing faulty electrical components and devices.
- Advanced electrical controls troubleshooting and calibration of PLCs, transducers, motor starters, relays, solenoids, I/O cards, thermocouples, sensors, power supplies, transformers and other control devices.
- Performs advanced conveyor troubleshooting/diagnostics and repairs.
- Advanced hydraulic/pneumatic repairs and troubleshooting.
- Complex shop re-builds and equipment upgrades. Identifies opportunities for machinery improvements and optimization.
- Completes assigned tasks on time according to schedule.
- Trains/mentors new hires and less experienced technicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
