Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, and select vendors based on reliability, quality, lead times, and pricing.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers for packaging, drums, and indirect materials; manage specifications and qualification.
- Maintain supplier relationships and serve as the primary contact for all vendor communications.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to maximize value and ROI.
- Monitor market trends, industry changes, and material cost fluctuations to optimize procurement strategy. Prepare, process, and track POs for raw materials, labels, packaging, and indirect supplies to ensure timely delivery.
- Enter and verify indirect POs, transmit to suppliers, track ETAs, and resolve delivery delays. Align PO quantities and pricing with invoices, resolve discrepancies, and adjust as needed.
- Monitor inventory for materials and packaging; forecast future needs using historical data and production schedules.
- Review material requirements against upcoming production plans, place replenishment orders, and confirm ETAs.
- Partner with Production Planning to align purchasing with manufacturing schedules and avoid stockouts. Inspect delivered goods for quality compliance; resolve shortages, discrepancies, or defects with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, pricing history, and delivery performance.
- Ensure all agreements and procurement documentation are organized and accessible to stakeholders.
