About the Role Are you an expert CNC machinist and programmer ready to build something from the ground up? We are seeking a Machine Shop Manager to establish, operate, and scale our new in-house machine shop in Franklin, TN.
This is a unique, phased career opportunity. Initially, you will be highly hands-on, responsible for CNC programming, setups, and operations to produce prototype and production parts. As you successfully transition outsourced machining in-house, your role will evolve into a leadership position where you will scale the shop, justify capital equipment, and hire and lead your own team of machinists.

Responsibilities
- CNC Operation: Program, set up, and operate CNC milling and/or turning equipment to produce prototype and production parts.

Technical Interpretation: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.

Program Development: Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., SolidCAM) and G-Code.

Tooling & Setup: Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to ensure quality, repeatability, and efficiency.

Quality Inspection: Perform first-article and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring equipment to maintain tolerances typically within $\pm0.005$ or $\pm0.010$.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose machining issues, adjust offsets, replace tooling, and revise programs.

Documentation: Maintain part identification, traceability, and documentation throughout the machining process.
