Responsibilities
- Install, align, and secure appropriate dies and tooling into the press according to specific job blueprints.
- Safely operate mechanical or hydraulic pressing machines to stamp, shape, or form materials to exact production standards.
- Conduct regular part inspections using precision tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure all outputs meet strict dimensional tolerances.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery, including lubricating components and replacing worn-out parts.
- Load raw materials, such as heavy metal coils or blanks, into the feeding mechanisms manually or by utilizing overhead hoists and cranes.
- Watch the machinery closely during operation to detect malfunctions, jams, or structural defects early and minimize scrap material.
- Maintain strict adherence to all workplace safety protocols, including wearing required PPE and utilizing machine guards and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Accurately record production data, part counts, and maintenance logs into the company system to track daily output and efficiency.
