IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN POSITION
This facility manufactures specialty steel products using massive industrial equipment, overhead cranes, large motors, machine tools, forging equipment, furnaces, and material handling systems. Candidates coming from light manufacturing, food production, packaging, distribution, or climate-controlled facilities should understand this is a significantly different environment.
This role operates in a true heavy industrial steel mill where electricians work around:
- Extreme heat generated by furnaces and hot steel processing
- Large overhead cranes moving heavy steel products
- Massive AC/DC motors and industrial drive systems
- Large machine tools, lathes, hydraulic systems, and production equipment
- Dust, scale, vibration, noise, and constantly changing operating conditions
- Elevated work areas requiring comfort with heights
- Critical equipment where downtime can result in significant production losses

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems
- Maintain AC/DC overhead cranes and crane controls
- Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, wound rotor motors, and drive systems
- Support PLC I/O, sensors, actuators, and control systems
- Troubleshoot hydraulic system controls and electrical components
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
- Analyze root causes of breakdowns and implement repairs
- Support machine tool maintenance and heavy manufacturing operations
- Follow all safety procedures and housekeeping requirements
