- Pre-Shift Inspections: Conduct mandatory daily safety checks on the electric pallet jack before operation (checking brakes, steering, controls, and horn). Document and report any mechanical issues or damage to the supervisor immediately.
- Safe Maneuvering: Safely navigate single or double-fork electric pallet jacks through high-traffic, multi-level rack warehouse aisles.
- Battery Care: Properly swap out depleted batteries, connect the EPJ to charging stations, and follow all safety protocols regarding battery maintenance and charging areas.
- Equipment Security: Secure and park the equipment in designated zones at the end of each shift, completing all necessary vehicle logs.
- Voice/RF Scanning: Utilize RF scanners or voice-picking headset systems to accurately locate and track inventory based on customer order sheets.
- Pallet Building: Strategically stack products on the pallet (heavy items on the bottom, lighter/fragile items on top) to maintain stability, prevent product damage, and ensure safe transport.
- Securing Loads: Transport completed palletized orders to the shipping dock staging area. When required, use shrink-wrapping machines or manual wrap to secure the load for transit.
