Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Create CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
- Set up and troubleshoot CNC machines.
- Test and validate programs before production runs.
- Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitor production quality and make program adjustments as needed.
- Maintain documentation of programs, tooling, and machine settings.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidCAM.
- Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and quality control.
- Knowledge of CNC milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 2–5+ years of CNC programming or machining experience (varies by employer).
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
