The Robot Operator is responsible for the daily operation, loading, monitoring, and light troubleshooting of robotic manufacturing cells (such as robotic welding cells, pick-and-place systems, or automated metal forming equipment). This role ensures that raw metal stock, sheet metal, or structural tubing is properly clamped into fixtures, cycle programs execute without fault, and finished welded/formed parts meet strict quality specifications. This is a 1st shift position 6a-4:30p - Monday-Thursday, will work Fridays when working overtime. $19/hr

Responsibilities

• Cell Loading & Staging: Load raw metal parts, stampings, or extrusions into pneumatically or manually clamped jigs/fixtures within the robotic cell.
  
  
• Cycle Execution & Monitoring: Select the correct job program on the robot's teach pendant/HMI panel, initiate automatic cycles, and monitor robot motion for proper path clearance, weld arc, or part transfer.
  
  
• First-Piece & In-Process Inspection: Perform visual and dimensional checks on output parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and go/no-go gauges to verify weld integrity, penetration, or bend tolerances (ISO 9001 compliance).
  
  
• Light Touch-ups & Manual Secondary Work: Perform minor manual MIG/TIG touch-ups on missed robotic weld spots, grinding/deburring, or secondary drilling as needed.
  
  
• Basic Cell Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Clean spatter from robot torches, replace consumable nozzles and contact tips, re-thread wire spools, and clear minor fault alarms/interlocks on the safety light curtains.
  
  
• Production & Safety Compliance: Maintain steady cycle times to meet shift output targets while strictly obeying safety protocols, EHS guidelines, and machine enclosure safety interlocks.
