The Brake Press Operator sets up and operates manual or CNC press brakes (such as Amada, Trumpf, or Cincinnati) to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and extrusions. This position requires reading blueprints to determine bend sequences, selecting the proper tooling/dies, and inspecting formed parts to ensure precise angles and dimensions before they move to welding, painting, or assembly.The Brake Press Operator sets up and operates manual or CNC press brakes (such as Amada, Trumpf, or Cincinnati) to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and extrusions. This is a 1st shift, Monday-Thursday - will work Fridays if overtime is required. 6a-4:30p $19.50/hr

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Load tooling (punches and dies) into press brakes according to job setup sheets. Set backgauges, bend angles, and stroke depths on CNC control panels.
  
  
• Metal Bending & Forming: Feed, position, and align sheet metal, aluminum, or structural stock against machine stops to execute single or multi-stage bends safely.
  
  
• Blueprint Reading & Math: Interpret engineering drawings, flat patterns, and work instructions to determine bend deductions, flange dimensions, and material thickness allowances.
  
  
• Quality Inspection (ISO 9001): Measure prototype and production parts using protractors, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure bend angles meet exact tolerances.
  
  
• Tooling Maintenance: Clean, inspect, and organize dies and punches; report worn or damaged tooling to management or the setup team.
  
  
• Material Handling & Safety: Move raw sheet metal and finished formed components using overhead cranes, sheet lifters, or forklifts while strictly following plant safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
