Job Summary In this role, you will support and operate new, large-scale 5-axis+ mill/turn machines producing complex aerospace parts. We are looking for a professional who is recognized as an expert with complex mill/turn machines and can handle new machine check-outs and new part introductions.
What You'll Do
- Setup & Operation: Setup and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and mill/turn machinery.
- Quality & Inspection: Inspect completed work for exact conformance to drawings and specs using calipers, micrometers, radius pins, thread gages, and height gages.
- Production Support: Monitor machines, change tools, deburr parts, and accurately record data on job travelers and part documentation.
- Troubleshooting: Identify machining issues, coordinate with support staff, and make necessary adjustments.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant machine shop experience. OEM or Tier I experience is highly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in CNC machining, fixturing, tooling, and metrology.
- Print Reading: Understanding of engineering drawings, basic shop math, and GD&T tolerancing.
- Control Systems: Knowledge of Mazak (Mazatrol Smooth AI), Okuma (OSP-P500), or Makino (Professional 6) controls is a major plus.
- Teamwork & Flexibility: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for a small team dynamic, with the flexibility to work overtime when needed
