Responsibilities
- Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport raw materials, finished goods, and pallets throughout the facility.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight trucks and trailers efficiently.
- Stack, organize, and stage materials in designated rack or floor locations according to inventory guidelines.
- Conduct daily pre-shift safety and maintenance checks on equipment (fluid levels, battery/fuel, tires) and report any malfunctions.
- Print, generate, and verify accuracy of shipping labels using software systems (e.g., FedEx, UPS, WMS, or custom software).
- Inspect packages, pallets, and finished products to ensure proper labeling, order accuracy, and damage-free packaging.
- Use RF scanners and computer terminals to enter shipping data, track inventory movements, and update orders.
- Prepare order paperwork, including pick tickets, packing slips, and Bills of Lading (BOL).
- Safely set up, feed, and operate production/packaging machinery (e.g., stretch wrappers, balers, strappers, or specific facility production tools).
- Monitor machine output for quality standards, clear minor jams, and make simple operational adjustments as needed.
- Assist on the production line or wrapping station during downtime or peak demand.
