Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- SMT Soldering & Rework: Perform micro-soldering, removal, and replacement of SMDs (0402/0201, QFP, QFN, BGA) under magnification. Execute hot-air rework, ECO modifications (trace cuts, 30+ AWG jumper wires), and pad repairs on multi-layer PCBs.
- Testing & Diagnostics: Conduct prototype board bring-up, initial power-on, and functional testing. Troubleshoot shorts, solder bridges, and cold joints using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal cameras.
- Quality & Lab Maintenance: Inspect solder joints to IPC-A-610 Class 2/3 standards. Enforce strict ESD controls, bench safety, fume extraction, and stock maintenance for solder, flux, and tips.
- Education & Certs: Associate Degree in EET, high school diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience. IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721 certifications strongly preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years in fine-pitch SMT soldering, hot-air rework, and PCBA testing.
- Skills: Expert in stereo-microscope soldering, thermal profiles, and flux chemistry. Fluent in reading schematics, assembly drawings (Altium/KiCad), and operating power supplies, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
