Responsibilities
Proven TIG (GTAW) welding experience is an absolute requirement. Candidates must possess a minimum of 2+ years (3 to 5+ years strongly preferred) of hands-on manual TIG welding expertise specifically focused on thin-walled tubing, piping, or high-precision flight sub-assemblies. You must demonstrate deep technical mastery in tube and pipe fabrication—including precise cutting, facing, purge welding, and multi-position joint fit-up—along with demonstrated success passing aerospace-level weld qualifications (such as AWS D17.1, 6G position, and 100% radiographic/X-ray inspection). Proficiency with precision calibrated measurement tools (micrometers, height gauges, depth calipers) to maintain extremely tight tolerances is required. Additionally, candidates must possess robust mechanical aptitude, solid technical communication skills, and the physical stamina required to lift, bend, climb, and perform high-precision work within tight or restricted-access geometries under flexible shifts and overtime schedules.
