Responsibilities
- Perform first article, first piece, in-process, receiving, and final inspections on precision machined and ground components.
- Use advanced metrology tools including CMMs, vision systems, optical inspection equipment, profilometers, roundness testers, micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, pin gages, thread gages, gage blocks, and surface plates.
- Interpret complex blueprints, customer drawings, specifications, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Inspect tight-tolerance parts produced through CNC machining, Swiss machining, milling, turning, centerless grinding, OD/ID grinding, EDM, and production machining.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately according to Good Documentation Practices, ISO 13485, AS9100, FDA, and internal quality system requirements.
- Support nonconformance reporting, MRB activity, root cause analysis, CAPA, corrective action, preventive action, and continuous improvement.
- Use inspection data to support process capability, CpK, PPK, trend analysis, and statistical decision-making.
- Partner with machinists, grinders, EDM operators, engineers, and production leaders to solve quality issues at the source.
- Mentor or coach junior quality technicians when needed.
- Support audit readiness, SOP improvements, inspection planning, and quality system initiatives.
