We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, program, and operate 3-to-5-axis CNC vertical/horizontal mills and CNC turning centers (lathes) to fabricate high-precision aerospace and commercial components. Key Responsibilities
- Setup & Workholding: Secure fixtures, chucks, and vises on mills and lathes, establishing precise work coordinate systems ($G54-G59$) and tool length/radius offsets.
- Programming & Control: Load, edit, and run G-code/M-code programs (such as Haas or Fanuc controls) while adjusting feeds, speeds, and coolant levels for optimal cutting.
- Machining Operations: Execute multi-axis milling (facing, pocketing, tapping) and precision lathe turning (OD/ID turning, boring, threading, and live tooling).
- Blueprint Reading & GD&T: Interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) callouts to manufacture parts to exact specifications.
- Quality Inspection & Maintenance: Perform in-process dimensional checks using micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges while managing tool wear and routine machine maintenance.
- 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a precision machine shop environment.
- Proficient in G-code editing at the machine control interface (Haas experience preferred).
- Demonstrated experience holding tight tolerances using precision handheld measuring instruments.
- Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and commitment to shop safety protocols.
