Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install electrical systems, including motors, motor controls, PLCs, AC/DC and variable frequency drives, transformers, generators, lighting, instrumentation, valves, breakers, and power distribution equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), variable speed drives, level, pressure, and temperature controls, and automatic/pneumatic controls.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions using electrical testing equipment and determine the cause of equipment failures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, plans, specifications, and work orders to determine repair and installation requirements.
- Respond to electrical and mechanical equipment failures and resolve process abnormalities to minimize production downtime.
- Work independently and with Operations and Maintenance teams to complete work orders safely and efficiently.
- Follow NFPA guidelines, including the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment appropriate to the trade.
- Electrical Journeyman Card required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of industrial electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Experience with electric motors, PLCs, AC/DC drives, variable frequency drives, and motor controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
