Responsibilities
- You will prepare, splice, terminate, and inspect optical fibers and assemblies.
- Responsibilities include fiber stripping, cleaving, ribbonization, fusion splicing, connector termination, and quality inspection.
- Inspect fiber end faces, splice quality, and assembly workmanship using optical microscopes and inspection equipment
- The role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience handling bare optical fibers.
- The technician will also record process data, follow quality and safety procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and support engineering with prototypes, process development, troubleshooting, and yield improvements.
- 2+ years of experience in fiber optic assembly, cable assembly, or optical handling.
- Experience with fiber ribbon zing, stripping, cleaving, and fusion splicing.
- Ability to work with delicate optical fibers and high-density fiber assemblies.
- Familiarity with optical microscopes, inspection tools, and precision hand tools.
