Job Description:Position Title: Main Gate Guard Location: AMPORTS Facility Overview: The Gate Guard is responsible for overseeing security at the Main Gate of the AMPORTS facilities in Benicia Ca, ensuring proper vehicle access, and maintaining safety and compliance standards. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and adherence to established safety and security protocols. Key Responsibilities: Gate Operations: o Monitor and control access at the Main Gate, ensuring only authorized individuals and vehicles enter and exit the premises. o Maintain operational gates, ensuring that at least one gate is always closed, and the others remain open as needed based on traffic flow. o Respond promptly to gate malfunctions by notifying the appropriate personnel and temporarily securing the gate with a van if necessary. Facility Access Control: o Verify the identity of AMPORTS employees and authorized customers using valid AMPORTS employee badges. o Monitor visitor access by verifying their credentials with the Facility Supervisor or Operations Manager and log visitor details in the "Main Gate Visitor Log." o Deny access to unauthorized personnel and contractors unless prior approval is confirmed. o Ensure all trucks entering or exiting the yard have proper documentation (e.g., Bill of Lading) and a safety vest. o Ensure vehicles leaving the premises are correctly documented with a window sticker, with no exceptions. Truck and Vehicle Monitoring: o Confirm that all truck drivers have appropriate paperwork (e.g., Bill of Lading) before granting access to the facility. o Log truck entries and exits, ensuring that each truck is documented in the "Truck Log" and that details like truck number, driver's name, and number of units loaded are accurately recorded. o Ensure that all vehicles leaving the yard have a window sticker and corresponding paperwork. o Address any issues with truck drivers by escalating concerns to the Facility or Operations Manager. Record-Keeping and Data Entry: o Process and record vehicle travelers in the AMPORTS system as vehicles are picked up or shipped. o Use the provided scanners and computer systems for accurate entry of vehicle and truck data. Safety and Compliance: o Enforce the safety protocol that all truck drivers must wear a safety vest before entering the yard. o Remain vigilant in ensuring the safety and security of the facility at all times, following emergency procedures when n
