Patient Support Representative - Specialty Pharmacy
Location: Onsite initially with potential transition to hybrid schedule
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour (Contract)
Schedule:
Training: Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-5:30 PM (approximately 6-9 weeks)
Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday | 11:30 AM-8:00 PM EST
Potential Conversion: Opportunity to convert to a full-time employee based on business needs and performance.
Position Overview
We are seeking Patient Support Representatives to serve as the primary point of contact for inbound and outbound customer communications within a specialty pharmacy environment. This role supports patients by assisting with medication scheduling, prescription status updates, payment coordination, insurance verification, and general account inquiries.
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and prior high-volume call center experience.
This position will begin onsite with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid schedule after successful completion of training.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of heavy call center experience in a high-volume environment
Experience working with strict attendance and schedule adherence requirements
Ability to commit to:
5 days per week onsite during training
Hybrid schedule of 2 days onsite per week after training (if approved)
Reliable transportation to and from the workplace
Ability to work a permanent schedule of 11:30 AM-8:00 PM
Typing speed of 35+ words per minute with accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to navigate multiple computer systems while assisting customers
Key Responsibilities
Handle inbound and outbound calls related to specialty pharmacy services.
Schedule medication deliveries and coordinate payment information to ensure accurate and timely shipment of prescriptions.
Respond to customer questions regarding:
Prescription status
Refills
Insurance information
Billing and invoice requests
Update customer profiles and document interactions with clear, concise progress notes.
Route calls to pharmacists, nurses, or appropriate team members when clinical support is needed.
Assist patients with refill scheduling and general medication-related inquiries.
Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to clinical teams according to established procedures.
Provide excellent customer service while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Perform additional duties as assigned based on program needs.
