responsibilities:
- Design and engineer higher voltage systems, spanning 2000V DC and 690V to 34.5KV AC, incorporating appropriate protection circuitry.
- Lead the design of utility-scale applications, including medium voltage transformers and inverters.
- Ensure all designs comply with Power Grid Interface Code requirements (e.g., Anti-Islanding, Frequency Ride-Through, Voltage Ride-Through, etc.).
- Perform Arc Flash Analysis for large electrical systems, including up to 5MVA drive systems and upstream grid connections of 15KV/20KV/34.5KV lines.
- Size and configure medium voltage drives, transformers, protective relays, and switchgear for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Apply thorough knowledge of NEC and UL Rules for both low and medium voltage applications.
- Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed electrical drawings for power and control systems.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including datasheets, technical specifications, and product/EPC warranties for North American projects.
- Contribute to the modeling and generation of reports for Power Flow, Protective Relays, Harmonic Studies, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash using Easy Power or ETAP.
qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing utility-scale applications, specifically including medium voltage transformers and inverters.
- Proven expertise in grid codes, energy and power-intensive inverter applications, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and Power Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of Code Knowledge of Power Grid Interface.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Easy Power, or ETAP for electrical system modeling, analysis, and report generation (e.g., Power Flow, Protective Relays, Harmonic Studies, Short Circuit, Arc Flash).
- Solid experience in the utility or broader energy space.
- High level of commitment and responsiveness.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and strong analytical ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel approximately 15% for project needs.

- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
- A Master of Science in Engineering is preferred.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
