responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the design of industrial control systems.
- Develop and implement efficient, standard, and consistent design practices for hardware and software, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Guide the engineering team in selecting and utilizing commercially viable hardware and software components.
- Oversee the design of control systems centered around power components for specific applications, with a focus on AC/DC drive control architecture.
- Lead the programming of PLCs, HMIs, and other industrial equipment for complex control systems.
- Direct the creation of schematic and layout designs for electrical and electronic control systems, including VFDs and DC Drives, using tools like AutoCAD Electrical and Mechanical.
- Supervise simulation, testing, and comprehensive documentation of control systems.
- Collaborate with sales and customers to provide accurate system project estimations and respond to RFQs.
- Travel to client sites as needed (approximately 10%-20%).
qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in the design and implementation of industrial control systems utilizing PLCs, HMIs, and Drives (VFDs and DC Drives).
- 7+ years of experience programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for industrial control systems.
- Minimum 3 years of direct work experience with electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Demonstrated experience designing control systems around power components for specific applications, with expertise in AC/DC Drive Control Architecture (up to 690V AC and DC Drive applications).
- Prior experience in heavy industrial verticals such as cranes, metal mills, pulp/paper, mining, marine, or steel.
- Exposure to one or more of the following applications: Cranes, Paper, or Steel.
- Proficiency with Rockwell, GE, Siemens, and Schneider PLC Platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering.
- Knowledge of C#, VB, .NET, OPC, and SQL.
- Familiarity with NEC / NFPA70 / UL 508 Standards.
