We're looking for a skilled Systems Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll specialize in designing and implementing custom control systems for heavy industrial equipment, with a specific focus on cranes. You'll work with advanced AC/DC drives and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), creating innovative solutions to improve performance, safety, and efficiency. This position requires a deep understanding of heavy industrial applications, including crane, marine, and steel manufacturing environments. You'll be a key player in upgrading and retrofitting older systems, ensuring our clients stay at the forefront of industrial technology.

responsibilities:
- Design and implement drive control systems, with a focus on custom modifications and upgrades for AC/DC drives and VFDs (up to 690V).
- Program PLCs, HMIs, and other industrial equipment to create robust industrial control systems.
- Develop electrical schematics and panel layouts using software like AutoCAD Electrical.
- Simulate, test, and document all system designs to ensure reliability and adherence to industry standards.
- Collaborate with sales and customers to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise for project estimations.
- Travel up to 20% to client sites for project implementation and support.
qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing industrial control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and AC/DC drives/VFDs.
- 7+ years of experience programming PLCs and HMIs for industrial control systems.
- Deep expertise in AC/DC drive control architecture.
- Direct experience with drive applications up to 690V AC and DC.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as NEC, NFPA70, and UL 508.
- Demonstrated experience designing control systems around power components for specific applications.
- Experience in heavy industrial sectors like cranes, marine, or steel manufacturing.
